Coordinator, NexGen Workforce Program - HigherEdJobs


DESCRIPTION:

The Coordinator, NexGen Workforce Programs ensures students can seamlessly access Workforce programs, persist to completion, and connect to employment opportunities. This role manages end-to-end intake, registration, and onboarding operations for Workforce programs; provides proactive, case-managed student support; and monitors academic progress, testing, and workforce program milestones. In collaboration with faculty, Student Services, and employer partners, the Coordinator also oversees internships and job placement pipelines aligned to industry needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Manages end-to-end workforce programs intake and onboarding, including application processing, eligibility verification, documentation, registration coordination, and orientation, ensuring a seamless transition into training and alignment with program requirements.
2. Provides guidance on workforce program requirements, including funding eligibility (grants, sponsorships, waivers), required assessments, and industry-specific entry criteria, ensuring compliance with program and regulatory standards.
3. Provides case managed guidance from enrollment through completion, including course planning, success coaching, referral to campus resources, and timely communication of program updates.
4. Monitors and tracks participant engagement and performance, including attendance, skills progression, credential attainment, and completion of industry-aligned competencies for workforce programs.
5. Coordinates early alert and retention efforts by partnering with faculty and Student Affairs services to address barriers impacting program persistence and completion in workforce training environments.
6. Manages industry certification and testing processes, including scheduling, eligibility verification, compliance tracking, and alignment with credentialing requirements.
7. Collaborates with advisors to verify requirements, credentials, externship hours, licensure steps, and exit milestones; clears students for completion.
8. Develops and manages work-based learning pipelines, including externships, internships, apprenticeships, and clinical placements; oversees site development, student matching, onboarding, and issue resolution.
9. Builds and maintains employer partnerships to support talent pipelines; coordinates job placement activities, hiring events, interviews, and tracks employment outcomes for program participants.
10. Maintains workforce programs data systems and dashboards, tracking key performance indicators (enrollment, retention, completion, credential attainment, work-based learning, and job placement) and recommending data-informed improvements.
11. Designs and delivers targeted communications related to workforce program recruitment, onboarding, deadlines, credentialing, work-based learning, and employment opportunities.
12. Partners across Student Services, Advising, Career Services, Financial Aid, Testing, Registrar, and faculty; ensures compliance with institutional, state, grant, and accreditation requirements.
13. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICTIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
2. Three (3) years of experience in teaching, career development, or case management.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience in workforce building trades programs.
2. Experience in Career and Technical Education in an academic program in secondary or postsecondary education.
3. Experience supporting student success and/or work based learning.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
2. Demonstrates a professional, courteous demeanor.
3. Excellent computer skills, including the ability to input and retrieve information using standard application software (including Microsoft Office Suite).
4. Excellent planning, organizing, and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and resources efficiently.
5. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and handle multiple projects.
6. Knowledge of service excellence principles and practices.
7. Committed to working in a multicultural environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
1. Works in an office, classroom, and/or field environment.
2. Works flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
3. Travels between campuses and local destinations.
4. Work may require occasional overnight travel.
