Nordstrom devotees know summer is the best time of the year to score deep discounts at the department store. Unlike most major sales, Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale isn’t just a way to get rid of last season’s spillover—shoppers can find deals on brand-new items and made-for-the-sale kits across every category (clothing, shoes, luggage and bags, travel accessories, and home goods included). Whether you’re new to the annual sale or look forward to it every year, here’s everything you need to know about the 2023 shopping event.
When can I shop the Nordstrom Anniversary sale?
For select Nordstrom cardholders, the sale opens up July 11. Cardholders with “Icon” Nordy Club status have first dibs on the deals, with “Ambassadors” gaining access July 12 and “Influencers” joining the party on July 13.
On Monday, July 17, Nordstrom’s 2023 Anniversary Sale opens up to the general public, and remains open through August 6. If you are in this last camp, don’t worry, there will still be plenty of deals to take advantage of—but to maximize your chances of scoring exactly what you want, start shopping ASAP.
What will be on sale?
While we don’t know exactly what will items be on sale, in previous years, trusted brands like Tumi, Sam Edelman, Béis, and Zella, Nordstrom’s mega-popular in-house athleisure line, participated in the event. According to Nordstrom, this year’s discounts will include pieces from Cult Gaia, Nike, Barefoot Dreams, Charlotte Tilbury, Bobbi Brown, Vince, and Farm Rio.
Is there anything else I should know?
A preview of the deals will go live here on July 3, and at that point, you can create a wishlist of items you have your eye on. While deals don’t move as quickly as, say, Amazon Prime Day, top-tier items are likely to sell out (think La Mer skincare bundles and some Tumi bags). By saving items you know you’re interested in ahead of time, you’ll have a better chance of snagging them at a discount during the sale.
If you’re more of an in-store shopper, know that your closest Nordstrom likely has some events going on, from Glam-Up Days to a Happy Sips and Bites night. The same discounts are available in stores.

Women’s clothes
Nordstrom is often the place we turn to for comfortable basics that fit right into our travel uniform. During the Anniversary Sale, many of the department store’s bestsellers are discounted, including Barefoot Dreams’ super-soft cardigan and a Nordstrom-made cashmere sweater, both of which are great layering pieces for plane rides. You can also typically find several pieces from Zella, Nordstrom’s in-house athleisure brand, on sale; beyond the joggers and leggings below, the popular high-waist workout leggings and summer-friendly bike shorts are often marked down, too.
Men’s clothes
Hundreds of men’s clothing items are typically on sale, with deals from brands like Marine Layer, Adidas, Cole Haan, Levi’s, Zella, and more. Stock up on everything from dress shirts fit for fall weddings to summer-ready swim trunks and wear-everyday undershirts.
Comfortable shoes
A good pair of wear-all-day shoes is a staple in any travel uniform and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is always filled with deals on men’s, women’s, and kids’ styles, whether you’re looking for sneakers, sandals, dress shoes, or slippers. One of our favorite sandals for lounging around the house, Airbnb, or hotel, the Adidas slide, is 20 percent off.
Beauty and skincare
During the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, top-quality beauty brands package up some of its best-selling products into discounted bundles, or offer them in limited-edition sizes. These Nordstrom exclusives include product from brands like Kiehl’s, Moroccan Oil, Olaplex, Malin + Goetz, Brigeo, La Mer, and NuFace, which makes hugely popular facial toning and sculpting devices. We’re hoping to see sales on La Mer’s Radiant Hydration set and Estée Lauder’s Revitalizing Supreme and Youth Power Crème set.
Luggage and backpacks
If you’re in need of a luggage refresh, Nordstrom has a solid selection of options from some of our favorite brands—Tumi, Béis, and Dagne Dover included. Beyond the suitcases and backpacks highlighted below, there’s always plenty of duffels on sale: discounted Dagne Dover carry-all in a Nordstrom-exclusive color, a water-resistant Herschel bag, or a lightweight Tumi overnighter. A heads up to parents: Last year the department store offered $300 off an Uppababy stroller during the Anniversary Sale, and $200 on a Thule stroller. Other noteworthy deals in the accessories section: Dopp kits from Longchamp, jewelry cases, and facial cleansing devices.
