European lower mid-market credit platform Vertis Capital Partners has hired Rune Sanbeck as partner and head of capital formation.
In a post on LinkedIn, Sanbeck said he decided to join Vertis “due to the company’s focus on lower mid-market European credit”.
“These are the companies that employ most of Europe and drive its growth, and as banks step back from financing them, private lenders have a bigger role to play than ever,” he said.

“This creates an attractive investment opportunity while supporting growth in Europe. Financing these firms is essential for Europe to grow.
Sanbeck said he will lead fundraising across the full platform, including engaging with some of the equity capital initiatives at Henry Costa.
He has previously held business development roles at AIG and Nuveen.
