Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time administrative position of Academic Advisor and Career Transition
Specialist.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this
is a full-time professional position to support Workforce Development initiatives and assist students, alumni, and community members with
career placement and transitional services. This administrative role will provide individual career counseling, job search strategies,
enrolling into the appropriate courses for their program plan, and workforce readiness skills and programs. This position requires
system-side coordination and collaboration with internal departments, organizations, other educational institutions, and community-partners
to ensure successful employment and/or education outcomes for diverse populations. This position requires travel within the district to
support growth and to ensure equal service to students and community members.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s
degree in an appropriate field discipline is required. - A minimum of one year work experience in a related field, previous
supervisory experience is preferred. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Must successfully pass a criminal
background check prior to hire.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
Salary Grade 2 on the Administrative Pay Scale,
ranging from $44,691-$55,841 per year.
