Joe Wiggins has rejoined St. James’s Place (SJP) to be director of investment research.
In the new role he will lead a team of researchers to ensure investment strategies available to clients meet their requirements.
He will join SJP on September 12, has nearly 20 years’ of experience in investment management.
Most recently, he worked as chief investment officer at Fundhouse, a UK investment consultancy.
He has also held a number of senior roles in the industry including at SJP as director of liquid markets.
Also at Abrdn he was head of portfolio management for responsibility for both active and passive strategies.
Wiggins is known for his writing with a particular focus on behavioural finance.
Last year his first book, The Intelligent Fund Investor, was published; it explored the range of challenges investors face and how best to overcome them.
Commenting on the appointment Tom Beal, director of investments at SJP, said: “I’m delighted that Joe has decided to re-join us as his insight and experience will be invaluable to the team.
“In this newly created role, Joe will be instrumental in fostering, nurturing and chairing investment debates across the division with the aim of delivering strong investment driven client outcomes.”
According to SJP this appointment is a continuation of beefing up its investment division.
This has included the recent hire of Hetal Mehta as head of economic research in August and Justin Onuekwusi, who will be joining in October, as chief investment officer.
